Connecting Your Device

Link your VS Code installation to your mr-coder.io account so you can create and manage tunnels.

How Device Linking Works

Each VS Code installation is identified by a unique Device UUID. This UUID is generated once and stored locally in the extension's configuration database. All users on the same machine share the same device identity.

Step-by-Step

  1. Open the Server Details panel in the VS Code sidebar.
  2. Click "Connect to mr-coder.io". A browser window opens.
  3. Sign in to your mr-coder.io account (or create one).
  4. Review the device name and click "Approve".
  5. Return to VS Code — the sidebar now shows the device as linked.

Multiple Devices

You can link multiple VS Code installations (home laptop, work desktop, cloud VM) to the same account. Each device gets its own tunnel configuration and appears independently on your dashboard.

Unlinking a Device

To unlink a device, go to Dashboard → Devices and click the delete button on the device card. This removes the device link and any associated tunnels.
